is a horrible idea on a laptop.
I have been wanting to try the automated merge in photoshop so I snapped some shots from the view up the mountain and tried merging them.
I really should have decreased the size for my test run.
It took about half an hour and my CPU is hot enough to fry and egg on.

It worked fairly well though! I cant wait for some nicer weather to get some better shots to play with. Anyone else done any super wide shots?
It ended up being like 4k x 31k pixels (~124 MP output!)

Haha. Interesting. Want to post them?

I'd think my laptop would be quicker. Up-to-date i7, 640m graphics, 8GB ram, and a 256GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD.

I should have done it on my desktop.
Its built for gaming but should handle rendering just fine.

and as far as posting it, where can I post files that big?

Its also not really a quality picture. The weather wasnt great I just wanted to see if it would work.
Ill see if I can get a clean version done on my desktop and find somewhere to host it.

Well I redid it on my desktop and cleaned it up some but I cant find anywhere that will host files that large (~87MB).
If anyone knows of a place let me know! I plan on retaking some similar style shots whenever I get some time and nice weather.
The results were very cool despite being less than top notch pictures.
