Well, I live in Hawaii. Often go on hikes, mountain biking, snorkeling etc, so I want a bit more than just a camera(more durable etc).


Is the GoPro Hero3 Silver worth the money?
Are there better ones out there?
Any other suggestions?

I want to be able to record my trips and take whatever pictures that I want from it, so something like the GoPro sounds perfect.

GoPros are awesome and I would take a GoPro over any of the similar cams. If you can afford the black (or whatever the higher end one is) than I would go for that. Higher frame rates and higher resolutions (4k!).
I want to buy one for mountain biking, jet skiing, and other sports but I just havent yet.
That being said, if you are wanting photos and not videos it may not be the best route.

I want both lol. I wanna make videos to have for the rest of my life, but I also want some still frames from the videos.

I would say the gopro's are pretty good. Don't own one myself, but I sure will one soon fine day!
