Needs to be from best buy i dont want to order online and its close just want her to have a good camera she has a old big nikkon but its not working alot and she does alot alot alot of photoshop and photography for friends price dont really matter as long as its not over 1k well thanks in advance

so you looking for a DSLR and not a point and shoot?
seeing as she knows Nikon I would stick with that (what model does she have atm?)
does she have lenses for it?

i honestly have no clue i think she has a couple of lenses i know that her parents paid 500 for it when she was in highschool so 5 yeas ago it was 500 i dont know if it was high end then? i will probably see what kind it is tonight thanks for replying though

if she already has nikon lenses, then buy a nikon, the d3200 or d5200 are both solid dslrs under 1k.

thanks then thats what ill do was going to get that for her b day but going to wait till christmas for now but thanks for all the messages and info

Just a tip, look into refurbished ones. I got my D3200 refurbished for a good bit cheaper than new and it was in pristine shape (I couldnt tell any difference from new aside from the fact it had taken ~100 pics already)
I also just bought a refurbished lens which has been great so far. The both came sealed from Nikon with a 90 day warranty from Nikon (my camera has an additional warranty from where I bought it too)
