its a trend. get over it. People have always liked to take pictures and share them with friends or family. The only thing that´s different now is that it has become easier to do it. I dont think just because people use instagram, they are pretending to be professional photographers.

although i dont like overprocessed photos and dont think applying a lomo filter to your dinner plate makes it art, good shots speak for themselves, with or without the filter.

sure instagram isnt a dslr + photoshop, but its really nice program to edit some phone pics with. for example i have many photo edit software on my phone and wouldnt had nearly as good results with any other than instagram on these:
