Anytime i have random questions, i will ask here instead of spamming your beloved Photography Sub forum :p

Anyways, first two questions.

Shooting in raw is just so it is the big size that it is right?
If I were to make it smaller, the only difference is the size of the picture?
I end up shrinking everything from 5xxx to like 1600-2500 anyways so unless I ever need it that size, I can lower the settings on the camera?

Next.

I want a wide angle/fisheye lens for Skateboarding.
Filming and photos. Lots of Constant frame shots for GIFs and videos as well.
I shoot a Canon 7D.
I found a very nice used for like 750,

Edit or this one http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002Y5WXE?tag=lensplay-20&camp=14573&creative=327641&linkCode=as1&creativeASIN=B0002Y5WXE&adid=1GY3KAT5ANR0H8MES368&&ref-refURL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lensplay.com%2Flenses%2Flens_data.php%3FlensID%3D1

I just do NOT want to buy more than one, since the first was not good enough ya know?

Thanks in advance for all the help.

I am very new to this -.-

Shooting RAW is about having complete control over your photos editing wise. If you shoot jpeg youre a lot more limited. If youre off the mark on exposure, white balance, if you had to set your ISO high and need to get rid of noise, its insanely easy to fix. The size is probably the most annoying thing, youre not gonna want to blow up every photo you take and frame it. But its definitely worth the sacrifice in space. I seriously never switch to jpeg, even my snapshots are taken in raw.

Id go with the wide angle, fisheye might be fun for a few days but I cant see it being anyones go to lens. Honestly Ive never used one but it just seems like more of a trendy, fun lens than anything serious.

Someone else can help you with the wide angle choices, I have no idea on that one lol. I only use primes.

I will look into that.
Seems nice for around 900 used.
May try finding a cheap one until I can get that much extra cash.

Ok, if I wanted a Used wide angle around 150 or so to hold me over until I can fork out 900+
What one is recommended?

maybe the tokina 11-16mm f/2.8, its a beautiful wideangle for crop sensor
the 16-35 is brilliant but not a lens I would pay that price for, i'd rather go for the way cheaper 17-40mm f/4 from canon

so the one you recommended is good for around 150 used?

I just want a solid temp to start shooting with until I get a permanent one.

I really don't know the price of it used, that budget is rather low for any decent lens though
maybe a 24mm prime would be good

i'd save up and buy the better lens. you can still learn things without the lens.
