1080p - 60fps
720p -120fps

i'm not sure but don't the go pro cameras only offer a "fish eye" type video? would be kind of distorted for my purposes.

i need to capture hd slow motion video.. as close to realistic as possible. no distortions.
obviously it will be outside and very high paced.
is slow motion an editing technique or is it something the camera actually does?

what kind of information do you need...?

so it would be a camera attached to the moving vehicle?
if so I would only recommend a sports camera or something weather resistant (they take a bit more abuse), both the sony action cam and the contour have less distortion I believe (there are others like Looxcie, but don't know much about them), look up some reviews and test shots to see if the distortion would be acceptable

how you get slow motion:
standard fps is 25 or 30
the camera must be able to shoot faster than that, ie; 60 or 120 fps
so when u play it back at the std fps your get 1/2 or 1/4 speed

the camera is not attached to the vehicle. i will probably put it on a tripod and i'll drive the truck passed it.

Budget?
And use for videos?
There's a few cameras for different price ranges, for example a Fuji camera from 2005 can shoot in 1000fps, dirt cheap but of course at a lower resolution than hd. But provide some more info and I'm sure we can help find the right solution
