bought the nikon d5100

any recommendations on lenses i got a 18-55mm lens right now

im pretty much going to be taking pictures of cars the most if that helps

are you shooting cars that move or showroom type shots?

a wide angle lens i think would be preferred too.

give us more details,
will you be doing shots at car shows, full car from close or will you have room to move back?
moving cars, will this be race conditions? shooting from stands?
both these would require 2 different lenses, but you could go for something like an 18-200mm

pretty much i do have plans on doing some car show stuff but this will mostly be used for how would you say car meets / street racing

just got my battery still messing with some of the setting on the camera here are a couple of the pictures i took today that i like




im gona try and go to joshua tree this weekend for some pictures but no promises

any tips or advise is appreciated

some tips: resize your images so they are not obnoxious to view
google some framing tutorials.
learn to manual focus. that first photos focus is annoying.

My D3200 should arrive Wednesday and Ill be in the same boat!

I would worry more about learning how to use it before buying lenses (unless you just have money like that).
