So, I need a camera for filming skateboarding. Taking pictures of the same thing as well.
Will also take an attempt at still life crap but ehh.

I have up to 1000 dollars to spend on a body and a default lens.

ISO suggestions, used cameras are fine.

Links would be greatly appreciated and donations will be made to the person who helps me find the one I buy.

Canon 7D with Canon grip BG-E7. three batteries. and battery charger. Less than 10,000 shutter counts.
Comes with original box and manual.
$975

pictures are in that link.

My wife works at bestbuy so I was gonna have her pick me up a cheap lens just to mess around with for a while.

canon 7d is a great camera
although you wont really need a grip

for a cheap lens we would normally suggest the 50mm f1.8, absolutely brilliant for the price, however the 35mm f/1.8 would prob be better for skateboarding shots, as most skate parks have cool graffiti / backgrounds you don't normally want to crop too tight

For sure.
I was gonna have my wife pick that up today since bestbuy has one for like 100 bucks.
I'll use that to test the camera and what not then just return it when I get a better one next paycheck.

I like the camera.
I was looking at a 60D but everything I see says to just spend the extra and get a 7D. Especially for filming a lot.

I cant advise on filming
but the 60D is newer, I am certain you will be happy with either

just keep the 50 or 35mm f/1.8 they are brilliant and produce damn sharp images, you will love it
you will be disappointed in most other lenses (image quality wise) until you start looking in the $1,000+range

Next question

I was gonna get a used 32gb udma 7 800x flash card.

Is it smarter to just save and get a 1000x

I'll be shooting a lot of like videos but only like 10 minutes or so long at most.

Maybe more but for now I just wanna get started with shooting.

a 600x will be fine for that camera, if u get any faster all it will help is the download time to the pc
but its really not worth going all the way to 1000x

I think all cards now days are UDMA
I use 8gb cards, but have a few of them instead of 1 large card, more as a safety feature in case I loose a card or it gets damaged (not that I have ever had 1 fail)

maybe look at the sandisk ultra 8gb (30mb/s), they cheap and a good place to start
