I love looking at nature. Especially landscapes and the way one image can change drastically depending of the suns position/angle of light and the presence of clouds.
The only area of photography that interests me is capturing these images. I would never want to take pictures of people or anything like that.
My wife has a decent camera (I think) Nikon D90 that I want to use to photograph some landscapes at all all different times of day.
I'm asking for any tips or advice that will help me to get a better picture. I feel like I have a good mind for what would make good content but pointing and shooting just doesn't get the job done
Any helpful links would also be appreciated

if you could post a sample of what your pictures are like right now, it would help greatly.

but general things are using a sturdy tripod, shooting high f stop, and getting some nice glass if you can ;)

plus you need to get a nice day, and remember to bring batteries and SD card.

if you want a really dynamic looking pic, i know some people do bracketing/ or HDR photography to get that effect.

yeah tripod is a must for landscapes, and make it a decent one
play around with the aperture, start with f/11
best times to shoot; sunrise till and hour after sunrise, just before sunset
try avoid shooting around midday

post a pic or 2 and we will give u more tips and tricks

also, always look up. if you see a good sky with the lighting and clouds you want, take a picture of it. you can use PS to swap out a dull sky for a better one if you learn how. its sort of cheating, but i know some landscapers do this to give an extra oomph to their pics.

main thing is to bracket

and like winterschapel mentions

most landscape photographers take 2 photos and edit them in photoshop, to have a correctly exposed sky and subject.
