Did a Fascinator shoot last week, it was fun, models, MUA/stylistes were cool
BUT shooting these "hats" sucks, they are ugly and obv mess with lighting setups coz they cast ugly shadows

anyway here are some of the pics - c&c, tips and tricks are welcomed

Those hats are hideous xD Poor thing. Is Fascinator the brand?

I like the lighting and the solid backdrops. Some 80's makeup though..unless thats how they wear it at horse races?

First girl is the best imo, she owns the hat more than the others.

Btw, how do their eyes stay dilated like that when there are lights in them? Thats neat.

they are horrid, fascinator is a "style" of hat (or lack there of)
thx, its far easier lighting some1 without a damn hat on
only 2models used, but was going for different looks/styles each time, so it didnt all look the same
i shoot with speedlights, so no modelling light, wasnt that bright in the room, their pupils are too dialated so next time i will brighten the room a bit

Lol I was going to ask if it was the same two girls, but I didnt want to seem like a derp. I kept scrolling up and down, comparing them. First girl is still best, the other one looks kind of blah.

I dunno, I like it  Makes it seem a little edgier. Just kind of crazy to me that youre shooting faster than the light can reach them.

have you ever thought of taking a photo from a different angle? like looking up towards them, I think that would be different.

Thats a bad angle, especially for women. No one wants to see chin/nostrils.

Plus I dont think the designer would be too happy with photos of the undersides of the hats
