i have a nex 6 with the 16-50 and 16mm pancake. im debating on getting the wide angle attachment for the pancake or getting an actual lens

Honestly no idea, I've never used this camera/lens/system.
I'm sure there is a review out there on the attachment?

the reviews on the b&h site all are pretty good, if you can find some more independent reviews on it, id go for it if you cant get a wide angle lens for whatever reason.

best option would be an e-aos adaptor and a sigma 8-16 - as you get AF, exif data and insane FOV
if your on more of a budget i would get a m42 adaptor and hunt the used market - however not alot of "ultrawides" around
a wide angle attachment would suck- in terms of iq
another option would be a e mount to m mount adaptor and use a voigtlander 15mm or 12mm - with the 15mm being a amazing lens with little distortion (for an ultra wide) and insane sharpness and contrast - this would be my preference as i own the 15mm and its amazing
