I've taken classes ( in highschool  ) on photography and I've always been interested but never had a camera so never cared to take it further.
Anyways I want to get into now so I'm looking to buy a high end camera. Anyone have any suggestions? or tips when searching?

go to best buy....and hold + test out cameras; nikons/canons/sony/pentax

then go to amazon or adorama and buy the one that feels best and has the specs you need.

800 - 1,100 (might go a little over, depends how good the camera is I guess)

Also most of the pictures will be for digital use.
Going to be messing with photo manips on photoshop and stuff so it'll most likely be a digital camera I'm looking for.

There is a big sale at best buy right now that ends in 2 days. I gotta go to work so I don't have time to check specs.
If anyone is bored let me know what you think of this. Lmk what is wrong with it or why it is good ect...

thats a good starter dslr :)

make sure to get the $100 50mm prime lens when you get the chance too.

edit: but i think t3i's are going for like 600 now, the specs are basically the same, and you could use the extra to buy some glass :)

Yeah I'd say that one is a good starter as well. I started out with one of those affordable canon's and I love it. I focused more on buying lenses than upgrading my camera, I love lenses!

this.

more lenses more epeen

also the whole rebel series are good entry level bodies. i actually use the t2i and its fantastic. just remember that its not necessarily the body that takes good photographs its the glass and the photographer so the t2/3/4i would be a great place to start and then buy some glass. also there isnt much difference between the t2i -> 3i -> 4i performance wise. its mostly cosmetic changes like movable lcd screen and such. depending on the photographs you want to take i suggest getting a 70-200 IS L canon lens. allows you to take some nice wildlife shots and shots of people semi far away like at events like meetings and conferences. although that lens will set you back 1500-2600$ alone lol. a 50mm is also a nice addition and its alot cheaper.
