Canon 60D

Nikon d7000

I'm wanting to shoot video mainly.
Lots of time lapse stuff.
I will be shooting lots of photos for fun tho.

but, I want to know the main differences between these.

Eventually I wanna jump up to a 5D or a 7D

so, 60D would be smarter for the jump but yeah.

iso opinions.

I found these reviews about them.

Like I said, my concern lies with when I get my new camera, swapping the lenses out.

I really would like to get a 5D or better later on.

Iso thoughts or opinions once again

by the time you upgrade the 7d or 5d will prob not even be in your mind
we dont know what will be out in future, all i can say is that with the recent releases Nikon are looking better, (more and better developments)

If you want to get the 5D in the future then your question is already answered, get the 60D. No reason to invest a bunch into glass for Nikon if you're gonna get a Canon.

I just thought of something though. For the price of a 60D you can get a 5D classic used in good condition. If you're wanting to get a full frame honestly just take the plunge. You won't regret it.

really?
I will look into this.

My buddy told me that he loved Nikon Glass a lot better and that the d7k would be a way better choice.

I got some research to do -.-

i have used top end lenses and bodies of both
there is no real difference in the glass, yeah both has a better lens here and there (nikon 14-24 f2.8 is an example) but there is no out-right winner, nikon glas tends to be more expensive
if it was just a choice between those 2 cameras i would go D7000, it is a great camera, but as you are looking to the future and your next upgrade i cannot say which would be better for the long run
