Hellooooo and welcome!

We need to see more photos around in here, so please don't be afraid to post more!

I've always had a thing for skateboard action shots. They're simply just interesting and I like the moment you capture in the air.

I like the angle you chose, somehow I wish that he himself wasn't so dark, but it looks good in my mind. Keep up the shots !

Edit: What camera are you using? :)

personally i think b&w is totally over used - for some reason people think that talking an ok photo and converting it to b&w makes it better

the capture looks good and crisp
a shorter DoF wouldve been good
the subject is also too central
wouldve been nice in colour if the skate park had graffiti all over etc

dont mean to sound harsh, just giving you tips
it is not bad and you will get better, so keep practicing :D

my reasoning for the black and white was the sky was ugly that day, sun wasn't out, cloudy/no blue. ramps are dull in color and him wearing all black he kind of popped in B & W. This is one of the few pictures ive ever post processed and turned it B & W but i did feel it enhanced this image! I deff could have experimented more with my aperature for this shot, but this is one of my first action shots really, but i can't wait to take many many more! thanks for criticism both of you!!

it's good that the guy is nice and sharp, but i think having everything sharp detracts too much from him. the angle could've been more interesting as well. you should post more though if you happen to take skateboard shots every now and then. i'd definitely check them out.

I think it'd be awesome if you could position yourself closer to him viewing him from the ground. Basically, like you laying there shooting at a sort of upward angle. You just have to make sure he lands next to you and not on you. I think that'd be pretty awesome.

i think the angle is good
great that he is totally suspended - ie no part touching the trees

thanks! i was conscious of the angle i was shooting so i could get the ramps he was on in the shot so their was no mystery of what was being ridden, and also so i could capture him at the peak of the trick with no messy backgrounds.

thanks everyone for the comments! my 35mm lens should be here in a day or two, interested to see the kind of shots i can get with a fixed lens, should be fun :)

I'm hoping to get a 35mm for mine too. However, I've been reduced to ordering the camera online, so I won't even have it for a week or two.

Hopefully, not long after that, I'll get to order the 35mm.
