Probably not the best out there, since I don't have the best camera. It took me like 500 shots to get a good one.

In case you didn't know already:

The super moon will appear about 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than normal full moons and will be the brightest of 2012.

The source of the super moon's power: Its elliptical orbit. At 8:35 p.m., the full moon will reach the part of its path that is closest to Earth, called it's perigee. Because of slight variability in its orbit, this perigee is the closest of all the perigees this year for the Earth's satellite. The result is a grand, golden orb.

I wish I could have seen this :( It's been cloudy all day, and now it's been pouring rain for hours. It's 12am and I'm going to bed. Cool you got to see the big fat moon! What equipment did you use to take the photo?

I saw the moon from the time it appeared over the horizon! It was dark orange and sooooo beautiful!!!
My daughter begged me to take a photo but my battery was completely dead from shooting all day :(
But I do not have anything bigger than 70mm so the results would not have been up to the beauty of the moon anyways :)

I only have a Kodak Easyshare8612 IS. No special lens or anything, which is why it took me so long to get the right iso, shutter speed and aperture to get the shot. The moon was so bright, it was nuts.

To me the moon is among the least interesting motives in the world. You´ve seen one, you´ve seen em all.
