Price range $100-400
This is my first digital camera. I want the camera to be taking good pictures during the day as well as the night.
I was thinking of either the Canon PowerShot S100 or the S95.
I read that the S95 takes better photos at night, not that it matters but I want general purpose camera, so when I travel I don't have the big bulky thing. I am not a photographer.

either of thoseare a good choice, or even the older s90
also look at the canon g12 or 11 - you might find a g12 for $400 or get a used G11

I kind of dislike the cheap feel of the s100/95, they feel like plastic, I don't know if its just me or what.
I will definitely check out the cannon, thanks a lot.

i hav an s90 as pocket camera and it is great, colours image quality, low light shots are all good
sure the s95 / s100 are just as good or better
doesnt feel cheap to me

sometimes use a g11 bit bigger etc so you might like the feel of it, guess it does feel more sturdy
