Going through some pictures, I realized I've taken shots, but haven't shared any!

I barely used my 70-200 - but when I do, I say to myself: USE IT MORE OFTEN! I just love the quality it gives.

This one's of my brother (right) and his best friend.

Say what you like! Say what you hate! :D

needs shallower DoF, as there are too many distractions
also try slightly lower sutter speed, to show motion with slight blur on the puck, stick arms etc, but still retain enough shutter speed to keep the face/body crisp

What I hate?
I hate the fact that we live in the same country and you have better ice quality then we did!!!
I had to go to indoor arenas to skate this winter
I think it's a great capture, it's very hard to have the puck in focus and the rest also! Great moment too!

Thanks! I am still learning about this lens, so anything to improve on is good to know. I never thought of motion blur, I was more "lets get this shit in focus" lol. I shall keep this in mind for next time.

OMG! We had troubles finding good ice too, to be honest! This ice was pretty good, except we had to shovel off the snow that was created when skating, we could barely move the puck! All the other rinks around here were probably good for a few weeks, and the rest of the time they were all melting/slushy.

Thanks Marie! :)

Yeah, I think I will try it out next time! With my luck, I'll get the whole thing blurry.

oh there are hundreds of those to come, trust me :P
but hopefully you will get 1 you love sometime

my suggestion; get the safe shot where all is frozen in time as you did
then start dropping the shutter speed and see what you get - remember all sports/actions are different so it would just be trial and error

gl, enjoy and looking forward to seeing what u come out with

oh and what the hell happened with grawl? when i was on holiday for a few months i obv did logon, so i totally forgot about it, got an email notification the other day and the whole site seems to be spam

Yeah!~ That was my plan, to get them frozen first, then start going for a slower shutter speed. It sounds fun. I just have to wait for another opportunity !

No idea what happened to grawl - and yes, it's filled with spam! I wouldn't trust it, log out and never return. lol.
