Need a little help, all very overwhelming, i've read up a little yet i still don't quite understand a thing about lens etc.

I intend to use this camera for Holidays, later this year im going to Europe for 2 months and i plan to take some great photos, its a Contiki Tour so alot of the photos will be taken on the Contiki bus, so moving photos.
Another use will be photography of my computer builds, showing all the small details on my custom computer builds.

Im only looking for an Entry-level DSLR and i've came across the Canon EOS 550D.

Would you recommend i buy the 550D Body alone or should i buy a Lens kit? Any other recommendations are accepted :)

Get the 18-55 IS kit lens with it as a package. Definitely worth the money.

I don't have experience with the 550, but I do own the 450. Nice entry-level camera, I think you'll be happy with it.

Also, check out the Canon G series. They aren't SLRs but are much more portable, and you get all of the settings you would use on an SLR. The image quality is on par with an SLR as well. There are some things you can do with an SLR that you just can't do with a compact camera, but many photographers will carry a G series as a backup to their SLR. Not a bad place to start.
