with adapters you can also use many of the old mf lenses like Nikkor, Leica R, Pentax, Contax C/Y etc
Zeiss and Samyang also make mf lenses for Canon EOS mount.
Are there any specific lenses you are interested in?

ALL ef lens will work as long as its not FD mount. And EF-s lens will not work.

If you want some nice options that a lot of people don't do, try leica R glass adapted onto canon.

I always preferred the optical quality of zeiss over any canon lens i owned, however they are not cheap. But i guess if you can afford a 5d mk ii then you can afford a decent lens or two.

At the moment as soon as the sony nex 7 is available in the uk again i am going to shoot lecia M lens on the nex 7. And possibly try the nokton F1.1
