i own a canon t2i and i usually ask eek for advice but hes mia. i was wondering what lens would be good for outdoor sports and landscape photos. ive been looking at some 70-200mm, 75-300mm, and 55-250mm lenses and from what ive read the Canon 70-200mm f/4L IS is almost the best for its price. what would you guys suggest.

for landscape, the sigma 10-20 or the canon 10-22 are excellent.

I just purchased the canon 70-300 which is a total steal. Focuses crazy fast and has the extra 100 mm. The only problem is that I have to crank up the ISO for any kind of action photography.

What bygdubdiesel said. The 70-300 would be great to mess around with. When you decide you want something faster, save up for the 2.8.

Personally, I never would get the 70-300 unless it was the L. I have the chance to use a 70-200 2.8, 70-200 4, and the 70-300 4-5.6 when I'm shooting sports, so far I have never wanted to use the 70-300 after the first time. The only sport I ever would use it for is soccer or field hockey in the bright sunlight, and even then I still prefer the 70-200 f/4 because of the image quality.

No, IS doesn't help at all for sports. IS is for stationary objects.
