Hi all

I've been slowly getting into photography for a while. Got a 60D in march last year and i'm just starting to really come to grips with it all.
Anyways i'm going on holiday in Feb and i'm keen to improve my set up for some landscape shooting.
I'm traveling to the great ocean road in Victoria Australia, for those of you who wont know what it is, it means plenty of amazing cliff formations, rainforest and ocean views all around.

My current kit is as follows:
60D
18-55
55-250
50, 1.8
Bunch of filters (all 55mm)

I've been unimpressed with the 18-55 so far but i'm not too sure if i'll have to funds to upgrade to say a sigma 10-20 or cannon 10-22.
Short of those two options, is there anything else I can do to improve my photos at that wide angle end?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

get rid of the filters.
24mm 1.8

Though it's not as wide as you'd like, it's affordable and very good.

Where I am the Sigma 10-20 is cheaper.. how do the two compare? i'm struggling to find a bad review for any lens...

And why no filters? I was under the impression that a decent CPL was standard kit for landscapes

In terms of the sigma, I really love this lens I bought it a few years ago. Some people have issues in terms of sharpness/calibration, but I believe if you notice any of that you can send it in for calibration. I also went with the sigma because it was much cheaper than the Canon. The canon, I am sure, would be also a great choice. I've heard of many great things about them both.

It's really up to you if you want to spend the extra cash or not. I realize now that lenses are always going to be expensive, and why not get the better quality. But I seriously love my sigma.

Also, check out the photos taken with it

I just got the Cannon 10-22 today :) got a friend who works for cannon so the price compared fairly well with the Sigma.

Looking forward to trying it out now!

My Tokina... why no one considers my Tokina?? :(
Think about the 11-16 from this brand, it's really good and cheap.
I will post some pictures with it in a few hours so you might consider it. Believe me it's worth it.
