Taking a photography class next semester, mostly just for easy credits. I don;t imagine i will actually learn anything that i haven't already read online or in books or just fucking around with my cameras. Hopefully it will be fun though.

I've spent my days working and just not feeling it right now. I wish I had an indoor lens to take photos of my cute nephew with. Something a little better than a 50mm.

get point a lamp toward him from somewhere else in the room, should give enough light lol. also i am not sure but don't all slrs have the option to increase or decrease shutter speed? Assuming light is the problem...

Oh, for sure... but I can't get the kid to stay still. He's very active :) And there's not a lot of light in the house. I do have an external flash I use sometimes if not from now on. I'm looking at something more quality, the 50mm misses the focus a lot, and I tend to get unsharp photos, too. And the iso performance on my camera really stinks !

i know you're not newb but just gonna ask, are you pressing the button half way to let it focus and then the rest of the way to take picture?
I never really have trouble with my 50mm.

Yeah, I do that a lot actually. Sometimes you can call me noob,

Now that you mention that though, whenever I do that, halfway down, it focuses like crazy, in out in out... it's like it doesn't stop.... My button hasn't felt the same from when I first got my camera, either... I wonder if the button is messed up somehow.. but I notice it does it a little more crazy with the 50mm. In my mind it just sucks at finding a focus point. But I am complete noob when it comes to things not acting right, or if it's something internally wrong or me doing something totally wrong. I don't know how these lenses are supposed to perform. And I do know that the 50mm is a cheap material. Ugh, I don't know, haha. I find I get more garbage pictures than I normally want when using it. I can never trust just taking one shot with it. :\
