I have finally decide to upgrade from point and shoot, but I'm having a hard time deciding what camera to buy.
I have around 1000-1400 to spend on camera + lens,
Iso some suggestions

Most of the time a shoot either landscapes or family events

well since the d7000 came out you can get the d90 for a good price + some lenses in a kit off eebay, its a great camera, love mine. if you need help finding a good kit pm me

From what I have read so far on the net, I'm leaning towards the Nikon D5100,
I saw a pack on Amazon -heres the

The 18-55 is pretty bad, the 70-300 is decent but not for what you're shooting.
