Nikon D40 dropped on concrete 2 weeks ago.

Lense clips broke off.

Repaired those.

Now the camera recognises the lense, but when autofocousing it wont beep, it just keeps trying to focous endlessly.

It's almost like its seeing too dark ? when i allow it to be on "no flash/auto" it has to expose really long even in a well lit environment.

Do i replace the body or the lense? or both ?? :S

It's not rocket science really.

Try your lens on a proper body. If it works by then replace your body.

Sorry for your loss though!

There could be problems with misalignments both in lens/body though, so I'd test thoroughly if the focus plane is straight etc.

yea, waiting for my friend to come back from holiday to try with his lense, just wondered if anyone here had done similar, or recognised the fault.
