So, last week I had an analog photocourse at university.
Was pretty much out of my comfort zone, as my main field of studies is architecture.
The course consisted of 36 small format black and white shots to be shot on one day, a full day of development, and judging.
Three themes: a big room in a small space. / A small space in a big room. / My place.
Kind of free for interpretation.

I had some shot i liked, but when i wanted to rewind the film, it got stuck in the camera.
This camera has been used by my father, but was stored in the closet for many years, so i guess the mechanics have gotten a bit heavy, idk, have to bring it to a photo store soon.
Had to open the camera, take the film out, and rewind it. Fucked up the film a bit, cause of just a bit of light hitting it... i felt really fucked up.

here are some of the photo's.
Taken on 100 iso film, scanned in low res. the shots are very good in quality, as is the printing. scanning needs to be redone properly.
Cropping has been done digitally, if i would reprint these, i would do it as they are cropped right now.

contact sheet

exposure testing strips

Night panorama.

1 second exposure on 50 1.4 takumar.

Crane, tad out of focus, should have shot this more stopped down.

I had a great time doing this, as this was my first time working with analog.
Im already thinking of turning my student bedroom into a darkroom when i return home.
thanks for watching.

I keep thinking you learn a lot from such an experience.
Everybody shoud do something like this before calling themselves "photographers" :)

I personally scan at 300 dpi and print from there. But Its preference i suppose :)

And i don't print large scale.

300 would be better, this is 72 for fast scan.
but i dont like the details.

I was actually talking about the part between developing the film and the scanning.
You need to print from the negatives to a good size photo, then scan it for digital use.
Thats how we worked at least, im not very familiar with this type of photoproduction.

i scan the negatives at 300 dpi. Any decent scanning software will scan negs and slides and produce them in colour or grayscale dependant on film used :P

I have a Hp scanner that has negative holders for scanning.

thats pretty cool. Though i do love the analog printing very much.
Its probably the part that takes the most space and money.
