I know what most filters do but I was at adorama and saw IR in some of the filter and NM WTF does IR filter do and is like NM the setting of the filter? O.o I confused

Filters were rendered largely useless by photoshop and off-cam flash. They're good for protecting your lens though :P

This literally didn't help me at all. u think I didn't try google first.
What I am trying to figure out is what NM does does it mean how much light it let's pass through or it makes u have to take longer shots cause there tondark blah blah blah

nm is nanometers, which is wave length of light, each is hiding and showing different items on picture and IR filter is filter, which shows infrared (not visible) part of picture, here is example of IR and normal pic of same subject (found it for you online):

my friend, I have argue with you about this, there is still 2 very important filters you can't substitute by any PS filter :P try to guess what filters I'm talking about ;)

exactly :) these 2 cannot be substituted by postproduction :)
