My guess is that you all have seen enough sunset photo's through time.
I just wanted to share this picture I took a few days ago.

Might be a good picture for my photography forums debut.

Picture as shot on Canon 30D with super-multi-coated Takumar 50/1.4.
No edits, because i only have access to my laptop, which has a bad screen for editing.

It's beautiful. Try googling landscape composition tips to find why this is compositionally ineffective. You exposed this shot perfectly, imo.

i like it a lot but i think i would still like it without the top half of the picture lol. also it kind of looks like you had the camera at an upward angle

thank you for the replies.

I actually took like 80 shots and picked this one out when i got home.
Next time i have to try getting it in a few imo.

Perhaps the bottom half would be good enough, yes. It might be a bit split up now between sun and horizon and the cloudscape on top.

how can i correct this in the next shot, without editing?

Shoot 45-180 degrees left or right from the sun. It looks like you were 20-30 minutes late too

but that would overexpose the sun, wouldnt it?
