What are the major differences between both?

5d II. IQ > all. Af is very acceptable. If only it had wireless flash capabilities...

While shooting horses may be your thing, your market is wayyyyy too limited. The 5d II's AF will be loads better than what you have now, and you can branch off to different genres...

I too thought about this, but honestly, you're going to really want that 5D's full frame soon enough. Like onepage said, the autofocus is better than your current camera.

Unless you have trouble capturing that right shot because you can't time it, I would get the 7D due to the huge burst speed. Or save for the 1D IV, it's the best of both worlds, and the price of both combined. :P

Hmm.. 7D + 5D II or 1D IV... :wallbash:

7D + 5d II. Smarter business sense. Eventually replace your 7D with the 1d IV.

I'd go with the 1D IV then grab a 5D if I ever found the need for a second camera. Currently, I have none.

There is no way I could afford the 1d..... omg even looking at the 7d is putting me in a bad spot money wise...
Since my reason to improve is the autofocus in high speed events, I find my best investment is the 7d for now.... I'm sure I can do very good all around with it,,, there is a 1000 $ difference between 7d and 5d...
