I would like to hear what you guys think i should get.
I am new to photography, had my Rebel Xs for quite some time and i decided to get a new lens.
Ofc i am on a low budget.

I like macro, landscape, and sometimes portrait.
so i am stuck between these two lenses.
Right now all i have is the kit lens.

well i just noticed the tamron lens i put is af lol....
as far as i know 1000d is only ef and ef-s
so for a 70-300
http://www.amazon.com/Canon-75-300mm-4-5-6-Telephoto-Cameras/dp/B00004THD0/ref=sr_1_1?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1311063961&sr=1-1

i might just go with the 50mm one. unless someone has a good reason to consider a 70-300mm lens
can also link me to a good telephoto lens trying to keep this under 140

I don't know much about the tamron, but I do know I have quite the fun with the 50mm it is a great lens to start off with, and perhaps maybe months down the road you can get the tamron eventually, too!

Here are some examples with the 50mm

Now that I think about it, your 50mm might be more fun :D

Best lens you can get for so cheap is the 50mm. Pictures are lovely sharp and focal depth is super fun to play with.

70-300 for me too. 50 mm is boring, and kit-lensy
