Then maybe I could take super awesome shots instead of just awesome for what Im working with shots xD A praying mantis wandered into our house today, Ive never seen one in person before. It was so teeny, about as big as the tip of my pinky finger. I took some inside then led him outside, he was a very cooperative model. Taken with my kit lens and a set of macro filters, +4, +2, and +1.

Im pretty set on the 105, if I still feel like I need it by the beginning of next year we'll be using our tax return to get one, among other things.

I'm more occupied with paperwork, editing, client relations, and the occasional chess game than actual wedding shooting. We are admidst the wedding season, after all.

I would have not thought it. Any affair is boring without seduction :)

Get an old mf one off of eebay. You typically would be using mf anyway once up that close. I got mine off of eebay for under $200.

The one I ended up getting was a Vivitar Series 1 105mm f/2.5. When I was researching the lens I had read that this lens had three models I guess. One is the Vivitar, one is a Kiron, and one is a Lester A Dine. After further reading all the reviews I learned that many people think its perhaps the best macro lens made. Personally I find it hard to think that it is the best made, but it's a damn good lens.

See. Obviously this one is a bit more expensive than what I got mine for. But compared to a brand new macro, you'll pay much less going for something like this.
