I have a Canon Rebel XS(1000D) and I am trying to setup a mode to take HDR photos but i need the AEB to be -2 0 =2 but when my aeb starts on 1 so i can only do -2 -1 0 or -3 1 +1

Don't use the aeb command. Use manual exposure :)

i got it to work i had to update the firmware

I dont really know anything about photography i bought this camera 2 years ago and used it for about a month and now i want to use it again and i wanted to try HDR photography

You can hdr the easy way. Take one shot, open in w/e program, bump exposure up or down. Save that file as a different name/ copy/ etc. Go back to the original, bump the exposure the opposite way, save that file. Wa-la, three different files all with different "exposures".

Edit. HDR is lame, but do what you must.
