Friend of mine just got a Canon Sigma AF 28-105mm 2.8 for $50 new.

Is that a good price? I see some on eebay and such for $100 so I assume so. Is it a good lens?

I did. Anyway, my point remains the same..................

There´s a reason why you can get it so cheap. When you buy a lens for 50 bucks you´ll have to expect it to be rather cheaply built, and to deliver rather poor image quality and sharpness, especially due to the fact that it´s a zoom.

I thought that Sigma was a decent company. Hmm, I was looking at a Sigma 10-20 for myself, should I not be..?
