I go to turn off my camera with my friends lens in and he asked me to turn off vr before the camera. He says it will fuck with your lens if you dont.

Am i the idiot thats been forgetting to turn it off before i turn my camera off?

Does it make a difference?

Yes or no will do.

I like to focus with my camera off then turn it on shoot then immediately off, if im out its usually 4-5 hours and battery life is pretty essential and i do this to cut down.

turning vr off or not won't fuck with your lens. vr consumes battery life like crazy.
