in Plattsburgh or Burlington areas?
It'S 2 hours drive for me, and I can combine it with camping and not worry about paying customs
I tried to Google it but won't work on dial-up...

There is a camera store called "thecamerastore" located in Calgary - that you won't have to pay customs for. Also, you're only charged 1 tax if you buy there!
http://www.thecamerastore.com/store_info/location-and-hours
Another one is Henry's
http://www.henrys.ca/default.aspx
But I have found their prices to be a little bit higher than any other camera store I've went to.
And where I've bought my camera gear, only because it's close by, is Don's Photo - located in Regina

Perhaps one of these places is close to you?

Burlington as in Vermont? If you cross over to New Hampshire instead and buy there, No tax at all. So it'd be a big save there.
