I would go for a 35/2.0 for your xs tbh. 50mm on a aps-c is kinda long.

Yes.. I have found this very annoying. I so badly wish I had gone for a 30 1.4. I've been using the kit lens so much more than my 50.

I usually let a new intern third shooter use the 50 1.8, and use maybe 2-5 photos they took. If people enjoy the 50 1.8, I can just imagine what they'll say when they experience the 35 1.4L or the 70-200L IS II 2.8. Once you go white/red-ring, you don't go black

135L and 35L = ultimate black and red buttsecks.
