What you guys think would be the best lens to complete my set.
I actually have a 70-200 f4 is and a 50 1.8(body 5d mark ii).
I was thinking about a 24-70.

35L 1.4. You'll fall in love. It hardly ever comes out of my cam.

what do you want to shot?
17-40, 16-35, 24-70 would be my choice

i have the 24-70, 70-200
future lenses for me will be:
17-40 the 16-35 is better but costs a lot more, and i only want it as a landscape so the 17-40 will suit me perfectly
and then i am undecided on 100mm f2.8 macro or the 135mm f2, leaning towards the 1st tho - any recommendations? it will be a money maker - for product shots, but would also like to play with a bit of macro if possible
oh and yeah will get a 50mm
dream lens is the new 200-400mm f4 x1.4

For pure landscape you should definitely take a look at the Samyang/Rokinon/Bower 14mm f2.8 manual focus lens. It's wider, much cheaper and gives better IQ than both 17-40L and 16-35L.

I loved the 35 on my crop, but a 24-70 would be more useful since i don't have so much lenses.

i am not planning on making money off landscape photography, so i think i zoom at this point would be more beneficial to me
thanks for the advice tho, i will certainly look into it, heck if i can get one cheap-ish i prob will

yeah the 35L would be great, but the 24-70 is more versatile

uh that lens is around 400 bucks and the Canon 16-35L cost four times more and according to the reviews I have read the Samyang/Bower 14 f2.8 is sharper across the frame than the Canon zoom at 16mm not to mention it's 2mm wider.
It is more like if you want to make money then you should buy the 16-35L :p

I have both the 35L and 24-70L. It is true that the 24-70L is a lot more versatile and very good for a zoom lens but when it comes to wide angle portraits or anything that you want both the shallow DOF and wide angle the 35L is hard to beat.
The only downside with the 35L is chromatic aberration which can be quite visible when shooting wide open in certain situations though it can be reduced/removed in pp.

I'd go with the 135L 2.0 if you'll be taking action shots and not just portraits.

thanks, but yeah the 16-35 is way too much for me, thats why i liked the idea of the 17-40
but the samyung should still be a cheap buy then, will look at it
