Looong time nooo seee! ^_^

I haven't really been active the last half year, but I've been busy (like.. alot), which means that photography has been second priority, BUT!

1. I've bought a softbox, which took like forever to get to work, because Sony's awful hotshoe.. So after few battles with different hotshoe adapters it FINALY worked.....

2. I'm quite excited as I've started some business. It's called eventographs, is sorta (as the name refers to) eventphotographing. If you're interested - and has a danish translater -
the homepage is www.eventographs.dk/beta.

3. But the main reason why I made this topic is because I consider to switch from Sony Alpha 550 to either Canon or Nikon
as I'm SICK of the fact, that it's so incapable of connecting
for example studio-equipmente ..

Therefore, I've trying to sell my stuff so I can afford some better. I'm thinking about: Nikon D7000, 50mm F1.8 and a external Flash.. Anyone got experience with this exact model?
Shit I dont know, there's so much to choose from. But it is in this price-range, as I'm still a poor student, with a sparetime job... I need some advice, guuuys ;)

D7000 is awesome, best value in that class, next step up would be the canon 5D II
D7000 IQ is good and the ISO performance is awesome, you will love it
but if you are doing events you will need more than a 50mm, best lens for events imo would be the 24-70mm f/2.8
if you cant afford the orginal get a sigma, my friend has one and i am rather impressed with it, he may have got lucky and got a sharp 1 tho

i think the 1st pic lacks, colour, saturation and contrast (might be the exact look you were going for, but i am not a fan), a polarizing filter wouldve helped you there
the 2nd, needs the light of to either side slightly, lack of shadow is disturbing me, as well s the reflection in the eyes

e: and maybe look at yongnuo flash units, will save $$ that you could invest in a lens, they will release the yn-565 soon

Hey!!! I recognize you for sure! Wow it's been a while since I've seen your name around, welcome back :)

Can't say I can give you advice on the camera you are thinking to purchase. I'm sure whatever one you do get will be great.

The last picture is interesting, but I don't know what else to say about it.

Heh, I've seen been browsing the forum the last month, and it's quite clear you're a canon guy - what makes canon so much better? ;)

Yeah, of what I ave seen the D7000 seem superior (in the pricerange I can afford) and the reviews I've seen/read got nothing to prove me wrong. :)

I'm considering buying the prime lens .. 18-55? that is coming along with the camera - but would you suggest the 24-70 f/2.8 instead?

Thanks for your reply :)

@Chantal7: Yay, a familiar face :D .. It's good to be back. After a long break I just realized how much I looove taking photos!

IQ makes canon so much better. I worked with Nikon for about a year. Will never regret sacrificing some AF for IQ.

prime lens is a fixed focal lens, ie no zoom
18-55 aint a prime
what would prob suit you best would be the nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8, for fx cameras, just remember that if you do upgrade to full frame camera this lens wont work
whereas the 24-70mm f/2.8 will

also look at the following sigma's:
17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM
17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM
not used either of them so look up the reviews

oh yeah, zoom ofc .. So you would recommend just to buy the house and then purchase the 24-70 f/2.8 instead of the zoom lens that comes along?

Will check up on the lenses, thanks :)
