I'm looking for a lens for outdoor shots such as the following, i want sharp quality, preferably auto focus. andi don't want to spend a butt load! maybe $500 max
Lenses I've already got:
Nikon AF 70-300mm 1:4-5.6G
Nikon DX AF-S VR 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G
Nikon AF 50mm 1:1.8D
Oh yeah im shooting on the Nikon D90

Nikon 10-24? Its more pricey though. I have no experience with Sigma or Tokina.

im not what you'd call an experienced photographer as of yet, kind of just starting out. so i don't want to spend to much

If you don't wanna spend loads money and taking shots without AF isn't a problem for ya I would consider buying on eebay any cheep old used lens with mm what you need.
all m42 lenses would be great:

TAKUMAR 35MM F2
HANIMEX 28MM F2.8
HELIOS M42 F2.0
MITSUKI 24mm F2.8

this or the tokina 11-16mm 2.8. I´ve used it back then when I was shooting with crop. it´s told to be the best ultra wide angle for crop cameras you can get for that price. the sigma is abit pricier.

only heard good things about the sigma 11-16mm
but you dont normally need to go that wide for landscapes

just use your kit lens for now at f/11-16
get a tripod and a shutter release (or just use the timer)

Or instead of buying a new lens go for special filters: like the ND 100 filter for 1 minute shutter speed images in sunlight. Buy also a remote shutter relase and a tripod.
