But anyway, back to being serious... Ahem. Ladies and Gentleman, i would like to welcome you to our 7th Photography contest!! This month's theme is chosen by our first female winner Kate (Disconnectyourbrain).
This seventh contest will run from Apr. 20th to May. 31st

Now the usual rules.

Here is how it's going to work, submission will be sent to Onepagememory via private message, he will then forward the PMs to me at the contest deadline. I will personally strip the EXIF data and send them to AlPi via email after the contest ends to post on his site to prevent further compression lost. Once that is done, i will make a new thread discussion thread with link to the voting event organized by Zex, and link to the photos hosted by Alpi.

Contest Theme:Environmental Portraits (Human only).
I know there will be questions as to what environmental portraits are. It's a type of portraiture where other elements in the frame (e.g background etc) will tell us something about the person being photographed.

We're splitting the pot between three winners in 60:30:10 ratios.

• 1st Place- TBP

• ***For any reason that we get a tied between first, second, or third. The tieing position pots will be combined and split into two equal prizes.

Rules-

• Picture must be taken by YOU.
• Picture must be taken within the contest time frame.
• Only ONE submission per contest.
• EXIF data MUST be intact with date/time the shot was taken along with other technical details (Focal length, Aperature, shutter speed etc).
• Please resize image to long edge of 1024 pixels and 1024 only! Not 600, not 800 but 1024!.

*Please keep post-processing to a minimal, it's a contest for photography, not image editing.

Also, I'm pretty sure Zex is okay to mediate this contest too so if you wanna contribute to the pot, leave a note here and send him the fg



**Reminder!! READ THIS AGAIN- Please read all the rules and make sure the picture is in the correct size and EXIF data is intact!! IF YOU'RE LINKING YOUR IMAGE FROM FLICKR, ALSO LINK ME THE EXIF INFO PAGE SO I CAN GET THE INFORMATION. I still had to pm too many members towards the end of the last contest to get correct submissions. Since i won't have access to the photos till the last day of the contest, i'm on a very tight time restriction. If you can't supply me correct photo within the last 12 hours, your submission will be VOIDED.

In case you guys missed the joke. The theme is NOT cats. Any submissions of cats will be automatically disqualified.

Is it at all possible to have a more flexible date for photo contests? What if perhaps I happened to take some photos that fit this theme ... I won't be able to submit them? Just wondering so I know, this has happened to me on a few photo contests, sadly.

Why is this theme so worse? Just do a self portrait with a bunch of cameras behind you.
