well it was my first DSLR. It´s a pretty good camera to start with. But you have to consider the fact that it´s quite outdated by now. The technology moved forward, and the 1000D lacks alot of things that the new bodies have, such as good focusing, hd video and high ISO capabilities. If you´re really looking for a decent entry level DSLR I´d say the 1000D is a good choice, seeing as it´s really cheap nowadays. If you want a camera that has all the new features and upgrades, and you got 100-200 bucks more to spend, I´d check out the Canon EOS 1100D or the Nikon D3100. But as a canon user, I´d suggest canon to you aswell. GL

Nikon D3100 is the best bang for your buck. I'm a Canon user, so you'll have to learn how to deal with orange skin tones, but the D3100 is an excellent camera for its price.
thank you guys
yeah i just checked out d3100 and 1100d but seems they are at least 200 bucks more expensive and i am scared to dmg it by bad luck

i think i will give the 1000d a try. just found it vs 380€ including 18-55 lens
