Since I joined photography forum on jsp I came up with idea to upgrade my old Sony A-300.
After several opinions and suggestion all stops on Nikon D7000 witch have to say looks pretty good.
I'm almost, almost wanna buy it right now! :)
But...

Nikon D700
vs
Nikon D300s
vs
Nikon D7000
vs
Cannon 7D

And now is main and most important question witch one of this cameras I should buy ?

usage:
Half pro half amateur photographer
Spontaneous occasion of taking photos of b-day party's, weddings, people (portraits)
in wannabe pro like you ;)

Wish you can provide pro opinions and suggestions but prolly some1 will troll ;)

Do you shoot sports?

If your answer is no and you can afford it --> d700
otherwise
d7000

why you didn't list 5d mark ii?

D700 is for sports, or was that just a miss typ?

but yeah if you willing to go up to the D700 price then i would suggest the 5D II
if you dont wanna spend that kind of $$$ then the D7000, it is an awesome camera

5dii or d700 if you are willing to spend that much on a body.

If not D7000 for sure.

I think you missed the "BODY ONLY" part.

Yeah. But I'd still get a 700 over a 7000 for sports. My new setup for horse racing is actually going to be both of those bodies. I'll use the 7000 and a 70-200 for when they come out of the chutes, then a 700 with a 24-70 when they're crossing the finish line. Horse racing season is just about to start too, I'm so stoked! Time to make some moneh!

7D, because Nikon glass is too expensive (overinflated) and money seems to be an issue for you.
