I am a beginner, and really interested in getting a nice camera. My thought philosophy is, might as well get a dslr and learn to use it, then spend money on multiple cameras to work up to a dslr. Also, i might as well spend a little extra for good quality rather than spend a little bit on a dslr shoots worst photos than a point and shoot. What are your opinions?

Thanks for your time

That's my camera, I'm ok with it.

Very good one to start with, just make sure to buy a good lens.
