I went to the Botanical Garden of Montreal today with the kids.... we love this and we take millions of pictures like everyone else in there...
One butterfly landed on the camera of the guy just besides me and I was fast enough to get a photo before it flew away again...
I had to ask the guy... what camera he was using....
It was a Nikon

But my Canon got this picture ;)

Here's the proof!

Nikons are only good as a place holder :P

Did you take this pic with the 50? The bokeh is surprisingly decent :O

Very sharp, nice. I like the colorful bokeh too.

I hate that guys finger though :(

Im sure people will get tired of me saying this, but square crop?

And not to invade your thread or anything, I just think the title is funny, I named a deviation Ladies Prefer Nikon quite a while ago :o. But it was most definitely taken with a Nikon xD

I still only have the kit lens and the 50 mm... Didn't feel like carrying around something else than the actual camera and the short 50 mm on it..

Thank you :)
I also hate the finger, for this I cropped it some leaving the same 8 x 12, in order to take off the guy's face, but too bad the finger is there, other than it shows the camera was hand held and not just sitting there...
I didn't want to square crop it cause I liked the length of the lens in the picture..

Eh, just personal preference.

I like square crops especially on photos like this because theres really nothing going on in the left. Its like blah filler.

Plus on this one the guys finger is really bright, so it sticks out like..a sore thumb

Theres a few ways, the one I use most is to go to image > canvas size then Ill put whatever px I want the border to be. Like if the photo is 2000x2000 and I want a 100px border, Ill make the canvas size 2100x2100. And at the bottom you choose what color you want the canvas to be, which is what the border would be.

You could also do Select > All then Edit > Stroke and do whatever px border you want.

But thats a very bad habit that Ive since broken, thats an old photo  Borders are generally unnecessary.
