Basically.. I looked here on d2jsp for information on my DSLR that I recently bought, but now I have a black and white film photography class and I was wondering what SLR film camera to buy? My budget's only 250$ so... that kind of narrows down a lot of choices. I looked at the ones at bhphotovideo and the only one in my price range was the Vivitar one.. but it got mixed reviews. ANY TIPS?!!

I don't want to go to a place where I drop like 50 bucks on a camera and the shutter or something isn't working. I want a reliable source... O_o and one that will last me a while.
Edit: I also need it in a week :D

Seriously.. You shouldn't be buying a camera yet if you don't even know how to make the shutter fire. If you are buying a film camera it should all be manual, you can check everything pretty much. The only thing you can't test is the shutter speed, but you can pretty much tell if it's working, especially at the lower speeds and bulb.

Film is well on its way to being obsolete. Plz dispose of your useless cameras in the recycling bin :D

I'd like you to show me a reasonably priced digital camera that can even touch the quality of film. Especially when it comes to large format landscapes.
