I'm applying for a job that has to do with photographing pre-schoolers and kids of that age.
I have little experience with portaits.

I'm planning on doing a series of portraits this weekend to put on my resume.
If anyone could provide tips, or even helpful links, on creative portraits it'd be greatly appreciated.
I'd be needed this relatively soon, before I take these portraits this weekend.

Thanks.

List all your equipment, especially flash units.

Do you have wireless capability? Remote camera trigger?

We'll discuss backdrops afterwards.

They provide all the equipment I believe.
It's for LifeTouch, if you want to look them up.
In the ad it said they provided a mobile studio etc etc.

Just re-read the ad and looked at their site, they provide all of the equipment needed.

Oh ok, as long as they provide it. Ok:

read this on posing + strobe aim:

That's part #1. Try it out. Take like 10 portraits with each technique, even if you think you can do it already. When you're done with that, get back to me.

We're only worried about face light for now. Use things like lamps if you don't have 2 flashes or wireless capability.

Thanks, I'll read that now.
I'm not very creative in poses etc, so if you have any info/suggestions on that it would greatly help.

I'm already planning on taking portraits of my friend's pregnant 20 something year old sister and her boyfriend this friday or saturday.
[Although I'm pretty sure she isn't showing much of the pregnancy yet, so I can't really do the cliche stomach pictures.]
So any suggestions on what poses I could have them do would help alot.

Is the belly showing at all? you may consider doing it once per month so that you can really tell how the belly has grown.

I'm planning on putting these pictures on my resume, so that won't work :[
All of this, hopefully, will be done this weekend and I'll submit my resume + application.

I mean, I think it's a really good oppurtunity.
But the fact that they're hiring now, and it's photographing pre-schoolers, I'm pretty sure the job won't be available by the time I take monthly pictures of her.

Maybe some of us can lend you some photos to use, ya'know. In your portfolio.
