Just want to get this out of my chest. It's someone on another forum that i frequently visit, not anyone here ofc.. I'm the biggest gear hog here.. but that's not the point lol.

I'm not naming any names but this guy has tons of photo gear.. he seems to get new gear every week or other week. Multiple pro level cameras 1Ds, 5DII, couple of 2k~ film cameras, hasselblads, Leicas, lots of expensive L glass and MF glass (Zeiss etc)

He claims that his art school requires these gear... Seriously? Multiple 2k+ film cameras and hasselblads?

I have no problem with him buying the gear (out of what seems to me like his parent's money), but what i do have beef with is that i've never seen him post pictures taken with the camera.. All the photos are pics of the new gear that he acquired.

I buy a lot of gear too.. but i put them to use whenever i can. I'll find time and shoot even with my 80+ hour work weeks.

If it hasn't been used for 3 months, and it is not making you any money, sell it. That's my policy. I highly doubt any school needs you to shoot with Zeiss glass. 1:1 mentoring with one of the best professionals in the industry; that's another story. Photo school is a whole bunch of art classes + professors who simply didn't make it big but know their theory
