OOOOOOOOOOLLDDDDDDDD. This is extremely cliche in the wedding industry. Did you intend to form the heart at all? If so, a constant light source is better for this. I like the feel you created, especially the blue tones and the white lines that erased the words of the book. It's a bible, right?

No, it's a dictionary, my original plan was to have the heart surrounding the word love or marriage, but it was too hard to focus on it, so I settled for this. I have three studio constant lights, but I didn't see a need for it, getting the heart set up was pretty easy even with a flash.

The heart can be shaped so much better though.

I think the main problems here are the lighting and the fact that the ring is so thin. It doesnt make for a very pretty heart.

Thicker rings seem to work better:

This. A different angle for the light / flash can produce a better heart shape, regardless of the width of the ring.

There is nothing wrong with the lighting or the ring, the heart came out just about perfect for what I wanted. The only problem is my lens, or rather my lack there of.
