I've been on a short daytrip with two friends.. I've been at this place once before with the same guys.. Last time we decended from a height at a totally crazy place..
This time we took the trip as it's "meant to be"..

The pictures are not the peak of my abilities.. I just picked a few I liked :)

I actually never tried the bokeh out with my 18-105 VR lens before, it's ok I guess.. here's a f/9 shot...

ascending.. excuse the angle, but I'll keep doing this until I have something a bit more wide :P

Just a little part of the view on the way up.. Is it only me who get wintersport associations in those snow-shots including a lens flare?

Quickie break :)

At the peak :)
This is our turning point, from here on the sun will be going down real quick..

As I wrote, the sun is on it's way down.. This scenery was quite beautiful :)

When we were below those rocks we could see all the icicles! They were beautiful :)
Due to bad/uninteresting lightning we had to do our best.. It was quite slippery but a friend climbed up as far as he could to hold a flash from the side..
At least it was better then the ambient light :P

At the bottom there was a watercourse, it was covered all the way over with ice.. At a few spots you could see the ice cold water... Pretty cool.. :)

I enjoyed the day really much.. Such days as this one makes me even more sure that I should get a real wide angle lens :P

I just thought I'd make a thread in here.. Long time since I last did so...

e: topic title should be national park :P

heard good things about it
do you like it?
what were you shooting before?
I am thinking upgrading both my D90's in a few months, thinking of 1x D7000 and 1x D700

i read that a lot of users had hot pixels on their d7000, but nikon had released a firmware update for the camera that fixes the issue

I had no problems with this.
And if you get that problem and the firmware update doesn't fix it... Return the camera :D

Well I've tried it for 6 weeks now, and I'm happy with the iso performance :)

That image was shot at iso 3200, no noise reduction has been done.. I'm able to shoot with lenses I'd never think about using when the light is a bit from perfect.
But to be honest, I'd concider getting a d300 instead, as the iso performance is just a part of what a good camera should have. The bigger grip and the bigger buffer would
be great advantages over d7000!

I really dislike the buffer with raw (13 images iirc), and the fact that jpeg high only can buffer up 15 images doesn't help at all..

Except from that, I'm a happy camera owner :D
