I was surprised there wasn't a thread for this yet, there was one made last year :P
What photography related gifts did you guys get?

I got:
50mm 1.8 lens [love it so far, thanks for those who recommended it]
Lens hood + lens hood adapter for the 50mm 1.8
UV filter for my 18-55mm [already had one though haha. But it's the thought that counts!]
Polarized filter for my 18-55mm
Photoshop Elements 9 [but probably taking it back if I can get Photoshop from the links Antichrist gave me  ]
I didn't ask for Photoshop, so my mom didn't know which to get me haha.

That's all the photography related stuff I got.
What about you guys?

Hope everyones enjoying the Holidays!
Have a good one :)

two photography books, I like them both :)

except from that, all I asked for was a gift card at a certain shop, where I will buy good boots.

I mean, why would I have expensive camera gear, but not good shoes to walk in half of the year?

I'll be buying lundhags ranger mid @ monday. Looking forward to walk em

I got:
Yongnuo wireless trigger set. If i had known how good this is, I'd have skipped on the wizzies :\
x3 books on photography, one for a photo class i'm taking @ univ
A 2TB external HD as a third backup to all my work photos.
A little metal box that holds x4 memory cards. Looks slick.

And the best present of all: the most perfect-fitting black dress shirt ever from my sister. Not even tailors get it this good. This is for when I shoot in the middle of summer, when wearing a tux at 110* F temperature is just plain stupid.

I'm so mad at myself that I forgot all about photography books haha.
Dress shirts are so underrated, they're nice.

I can't edit my original post, or I would, but here are some quick snapshots I took with my new 50mm 1.8.

My niece - She's a present opening machine.

Unfortunately, my family cannot afford photography equipment, so they bought me other things.

I can share some Christmas-Related photos though.

Merry Christmas everyone!

1. My nephew's first Christmas

2. A rich place in the city I live in

4.

5. Mom - High ISO playing around with bokeh. Nothing special

I got... Nothing photography related...

A Utah Golf Association golfer's book. Which is the most awesome.

A George Forman grill. Not sure about the thought process on that one haha.

Gift cards to several of my favorite restaurants. Which is bomb because when you live on your own cooking for yourself sucks.

A new bed for my great dane. She loved it.

A bottle of Sailor Jerry. Absolute win.
