I have the following problem: The Mcdonalds sign in my photo draws to much attention as it has a very strong red colour. How can I remove that? I mean that I would like to smoothen it somehow so that it fits into the image.

I also tried some other solutions but I am not satisfied with them:

cropping:

Black and white:

I am looking forward to your opinions and help. Thank you in advance.

1 of 2: you can photoshop it off completely by gathering from the textures that are around it until it looks real.
2 of 2: fix your wb, desaturate and decrease brightness on it enough so that it still looks natural but it does not stand out.
3 of 2 (I use canon so I can break reality): Break the damn thing.

Nice photo btw.

Depending on the original size and quality of the picture, you could simply crop it out. The most interesting part is below anyways

It destroys overall composition imo.

Content aware + clone stamping, may not always be perfect but unless people are going to stare at that one spot it gets the job done.

Now that I look at it, I prefer the version with McDonalds on it. It looks more times square-ey

you can lower the saturation and luminance of just reds if you want to keep the sign there without cloning it out

I'm not that good, so probably don't follow my opinion haha
But I think if you cropped the upper part of the picture at some median in the 2 buildings, it would make your eyes look down the street more naturally
Imo, people would notice the dof created by the people down the street better that way.
